Greene & Greene Style Blanket Box

Although it’s intended as a blanket box, this would also make a nice tack trunk with a sliding, removable tray. It’s based on the Wood Whisperers Guild plans inspired by the Greene & Greene blanket blanket box. This one is made of Cherry with a Cedar bottom and Ebony details.

Greene & Greene Style TV Stand

Below is a TV stand I made out of Sapele. The design is inspired by David Radtke’s published in Popular Woodworking magazine. I added a lot of Greene & Greene details such as the Beasley Blacker Indent Detail, inlaid Wenge and Ebony plugs, through joints mortised into the top and everything is tapered to be pleasing to the eye. The ends of the shelves as well as the length of the shelves themselves are tapered to match the legs and be pleasing to the eye. The cord channel is oversize so excess cord can be hidden out of view. Although this one is made out of Sapele, I am happy to make it out of whatever wood you prefer and price would vary accordingly.

The Beasley Blacker Indent Detail is inspired by the Blacker House Leg Indent. It is found in the Blacker House designed by Greene & Greene. it may be hard to see, but the area between the Wenge inlay, roughly 3 inches from the bottom is indented about 3/16ths of an inch.

This one looks a lot like the one above, but it is bigger, 72 inches, and the shelves are spaced a little different. This one currently resides in Florida. It is made of Sapele with Wenge and Ebony inlays. It also features the Beasley blacker indent detail.

I wanted an end table to match our coffee table. The coffee table was made by Sallingboe and given to us by my wife’s parents. It’s not an exact match, but it looks nice in my living room.
