The Tuxedo Clock

Tuxedo Clock $2999

This clock is made from a stunning Ambrosia Maple Slab approximately 2 inches thick. The base is constructed from Tasmanian Blackwood with a hard Maple accent. The sides feature a unique scroll pattern for added detail and beauty. The finish is all natural, no VOCs and is water resistant.

The overall height is 80 inches (6 feet 8 inches). The base measures 15 inches deep by 22 inches wide. The slab is easily removed from the base for convenient transportation. The bottom has 4 non-marking thermal plastic rubber feet raising the clock approximately half an inch off the floor.

The movement is a modern, slimline design with a single bell strike on the hour. The pendulum is long and cylindrical with a 6 inch swing. The weight drops just 6.75 inches daily and only needs winding every 7 days. The 7.25 inch diameter time ring is gold colored with black Roman numerals.

The back of the clock is fully finished so it can stand against the wall or as a room divider. This Ambrosia Maple Live Edge Grandfather Clock can be purchased for $2999. Contact Beasley Sevin Designs at beasley7designs@gmail.com to arrange purchase and delivery.

Live Edge Ambrosia Maple – Tuxedo Clock

Tuxedo Clock $2999

I finished the Tuxedo clock!! I tried a different movement that I got from Klockit and i am glad I did. I love the look and design of the new movement, the ease of mounting, the slim cylinder pendulum and the customer service at Klockit was a pleasure to work with. Speaking of the movement, here is a picture of it.

Tuxedo Clock Face

More photos can be found on the Live Edge Grandfather Clock tab above or click here. The slab is Ambrosia Maple with a little spalting here and there. The base is made from Tasmanian Blackwood. There is a scroll pattern on the side for added detail. I call it the Tuxedo Clock because the base reminds me of the vest and shirt of a tuxedo.

See my Clocks at Artists’ Emporium

There is a really cool art gallery in Havre de Grace, Maryland. It’s called Artists’ Emporium. In addition to beautiful paintings, photographs ceramics and blown glass, they now also have three of my live edge grandfather clocks on display for sale. If you are in the area, or want to go on a road trip, stop by and enjoy the art.

The clocks are on display in the front window. The other clocks and Greene & Greene furniture is still available for sale through this site. Just reach out to me at Beasley7Designs@gmail.com to arrange shipping.

The Shop Has Gone to the Dogs

A friend of mine is selling these. They were made by Tony Acevedo Designs. My friend has a bunch of these statues of various breeds. She asked me to make the bases. The bases are made of cherry, alder, mahogany and Bubinga. If you are interested in purchasing any of these, please contact me at Beasley7Designs@gmail.com and I will connect you with the seller.

Getting Ready for the RIFF Show

Walnut Coffee Table $1800

This table measures 24″Wx48″Lx16″H and is made out of walnut with ebony details. The table top is one single piece as evidenced by the ribbon of sap wood on each side. The graduated oversize finger joints are a Beasley Sevin Designs original interpretation of the Greene & Greene style.

The entire set will be available for sale at the Rhode Island Fine Furnishings Show in Providence RI from November 5th through 7th.

Greene & Greene coffee and end table set $3750

Twins!!!

Greene & Greene End Table $2000 pair

They should look alike, they both came from the same tree. These Greene & Greene tables are made from walnut urban logged from my sisters yard in Staunton VA. They stand 19 inches tall and the top is 24 inches square. Oversize finger joints and genuine Gabon ebony details bring out the Greene & Greene style while the taper adds a contemporary flair.

Greene & Greene Walnut End Table

Greene & Greene Walnut Table $1100 ($2000 for two)

This table is special for several reasons. First, I urban logged the tree from my sister’s yard. It lived a long life and was dying of natural causes. Unfortunately is was very close to house so it had to be cut down. I took the logs to a sawyer, stacked the slabs in my barn for a couple of years and tada- it turned into an end table. Second, the design is my own creation. However, you can see the heavy Greene & Greene influence. Oversize finger joints, ebony plugs and every edge rounded over make this a truly beautiful piece.

I plan to make a matching end table, coffee table, sofa table and maybe a media center to take to the Rhode Island Fine Furnishings Show in November. I will add more photos on the gallery tab. If you are interested in purhasing this table or any of the accompanying pieces, please contact me at Beasley7Designs@gmail.com.

Epoxy. What Epoxy?

I have been busy in the shop, even though I haven’t posted much for the past few weeks. I made the sofa table below. There really is an epoxy pattern in all four legs. I can vary the shape, style and color to match decor. This one was made to go with black leather furniture. The design pairs well with the TV stand below.

I have also been designing a new living room suite to debut at the Rhode Island Fine Furnishings Show in November. I am planning on showing end tables, coffee table, media center and sofa table.

Is Bigger Better?

I know it looks just like the last TV stand I made, but this is a different one. This one is headed to Florida and is 72″ long. The other one lives in Delaware and is 55″ long. This one also has the new Beasley Sevin Designs badge on the back of the cord keeper.

I’ve also been working on a sofa table, another clock and I have a design for a living room set I hope to take to the Rhode Island Fine Furnishings Show in November. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I’ve been busy in the shop. I should have the couch table photos posted is a couple of weeks.

Fun with Sapele

I love working with live edge wood. But I thought I would make something a little different. I guess you never know where inspiration will come from. I saw the TV stand in the bottom photo in a Popular Woodworking magazine article. It was designed by David Radtke and is made of plywood and biscuit joinery.

TV stand in Sapele with Wenge & Ebony inlays $750
Contemporary TV stand by David Radtke, inspiration for above

I wanted to make something a little more elaborate. So instead of plywood, I used Sapele, a non endangered wood in the Mahogany family. I also added Wenge inlay on the legs. Because I like Greene & Greene style furniture, I extended the legs through the top and added some Ebony plugs. To further jazz it up I created the Beasley Blacker indent detail and put it on the legs as well. the result is in the top photo.

There’s more photos in the gallery. I had fun making this and will likely make more pieces to go with it. If you are interested in purchasing or commissioning one, please contact me at Beasley7Designs@gmail.com
