I love working with live edge wood. But I thought I would make something a little different. I guess you never know where inspiration will come from. I saw the TV stand in the bottom photo in a Popular Woodworking magazine article. It was designed by David Radtke and is made of plywood and biscuit joinery.

I wanted to make something a little more elaborate. So instead of plywood, I used Sapele, a non endangered wood in the Mahogany family. I also added Wenge inlay on the legs. Because I like Greene & Greene style furniture, I extended the legs through the top and added some Ebony plugs. To further jazz it up I created the Beasley Blacker indent detail and put it on the legs as well. the result is in the top photo.
There’s more photos in the gallery. I had fun making this and will likely make more pieces to go with it. If you are interested in purchasing or commissioning one, please contact me at Beasley7Designs@gmail.com
